Preparing Your Child For School
J. Bulluss
This book written by Judie Bulluss, Education Consultant, directs parents to the important readiness skills which enable a child to enter school with the skills required for an enjoyable learning journey. It gives realistic benchmarks for readiness and pages of activities for parents to complete with their children to give experiences which develop Auditory Skills (listening), Visual Skills (seeing and observing), Memory Skills (remembering what is seen and heard), Language Skills (understanding and communicating), Motor Skills (movement in space and time), and Social Skills (getting on with others.)
It is accompanied by a child's story book, by Graeme Bulluss, in full colour, written in rhyme, which depicts some of the activities and experiences of a four year old getting ready for school.
A CD provides readings of the rhymes to encourage your child to "read along".
